“…you want to go where you can get an education, play and get funded. This is a business. They don’t pay, you don’t play.” - Jack Renkens
When it comes to the parents who are involved in the collegiate athletic recruiting process, Jack Renkens has seen it all. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-River Falls where he was an All League performer in basketball, Jack Renkens captained the team and was MVP in 1974. He earned his Masters Degree at the United States Sports Academy in Mobile, Alabama and has done substantial graduate work at Northern Arizona University. From his days as a high school coach, administrator and teacher at Winslow High School (Winslow, AZ) and Woodstock High School (Woodstock, IL) through his days at Colby Junior College (Colby, KS) and as coach and Athletic Director at award winning Assumption College (Worcester, MA) Jack has witnessed the game from all sides.

But it wasn’t until his own daughter became a nationally recruited basketball player that he discovered not only how little most student-athletes and their families knew about the recruiting process, but also how many myths existed.
As a result, Jack founded Recruiting Realities, an organization dedicated to exploding the myths and presenting the realities of athletic recruiting to student-athletes, their families, coaches and school counselors. Jack’s highly sought-after program has been featured at thousands of schools across the United States, on numerous television, radio, web site programs and at sports camps from coast to coast.
